Hi
I know about the EIA codes, however I am in a bit of a quandry regarding an amp someone asked me about. It's is supposedly 68 Vibrolux Reverb but the date codes on the xformers are either year 6 or 7. That could be okay, Fender occassionally had transformers from earlier years depending on leftover stock. The problem I am having is that the serial number on the amp is right but when looking around at other transformers of that year the date code looks different. On this amp xformer's the EIA/date code is six sequential numbers -XXXXXX. When googling the models of 66-68 eras that come up have numbers are hyphenated. XXX-X-XX. So I am curious if anyone knows if there is a way to determine if it 1960s or 1970s era transformers.
Thanks
