done a check on heritage audio devices website
exteriors very similar as original vintage neve
but seen that various part like transistors etc... are obsolete and unavailable ,
how the circuits can be the same ?

peace

They are not the same.

But that does not matter. The Neve sound does not come form any special magic in the components used.

Cheers

The sound of old Neve is in the Iron...

I have yet to see any of the Neve style stuff from BAE,  heritage,  ETC sound the same as the Iron is different.

really in the iron only ?
copper ?
"body" ? .....

checked various threads about vintage neve stuff clones etc... 73, 81, 2254 etc...
and some transistors (bc214, bc184, 441, etc..) are no longer available from standard producers...
also seen a "stick" on the transformers  placed inside actual original vintage neve devices

that say something like  :  "made only for neve"

then the transformers available at (the nice guys) audio maintenance
really sound  much different than the "originals" ?
anybody have made some test with audio files or "tracer" instruments ?

ps:
and what about this one ?

If two audio paths "sound" different, their transfer function (response, linearity, etc) must be different. If a legacy (old) design sounds different, from the popular modern gear, that difference is most likely some inferiority in frequency response, linearity (distortion), or both.

Looking for sonic magic from an inferior (on the test bench) audio path seems an exercise in optimistic nostalgia. There are probably plug-ins that generate euphonious errors for effect.

PS: One could make an effective (similar sounding)  clone by null testing one against an original XYZ and tweaking until the difference is very small. Not sure why bother, but it "could" be done.

Paint color can have a BIG effect on "sound".

This is why 'final color matching' is so important...!

There is more to a transformer then just matching the windings.  materials used to create the transformer effect the sound. Wire gauge effects the sound.  A whole lot of science in those cans...
