Any 'muricans surprised? They are not part of the Social Security System, not part of Medicare, they were exempt, EXEMPT from gubment vax mandates, it's totally back-azzwards. It will not change until the fed gubment stops being a birdfeeder. The administrative state, the phantom fourth branch, must be clipped from the tree.
There are a few sites that track politician trades, in and out. Interesting side hustle beyond a core portfolio.
caveat emptor, on the sites AND the foilticians running the US!

I have long said that legislators should be paid more.

In private industry people spending $T of dollars get paid more than a few hundred $K to reduce their temptation to promote active shrinkage.
