I have just bought this toroid (Talema TRT30215) but there came no information with the toroid so I don't know how to identify the wires so I can connect it the right way (building my first SSL)

I have found the specs for the toroid(pdf) here but the colors of the wires in the specs does not match the colors of my toroid :shock:

Can anyone help me?? ......please :roll:

I've got the same toroid (or kinda) : yellow wires should be the primary self.

For the other wires, take a look at the edge of the toroid, there's a little sticker. You should read the output voltage and power of each pair of wire on this sticker. I can remember that the ink used to print the spec on this sticker is kind a white on a white sticker :wink:
Damn ! I don't have the toroid in my hands right now, I just trust my memory :grin:

aahhhh thanks slash now I see (I'm so green :roll: )

On the side it says:

Pri. : 230V/50-60Hz ge-ge
Sec. : 2x15V/1A gn-rt/bn-bl

I gues the ge-ge is the two yellow ones with extra insulation and the gn-rt is the green and the red finaly the bn-bl must be the brown and the blue right??

Seems that colors wires have been written in german (I don't speak german at all, but Google does a little bit :wink: ) :
yellow <-> gelb
green <-> Grün
red <-> rot

and such ... :wink:

Yeesss it's German you are absolutely right slash (I ordered it from Germany :roll: ) fortunately I read and write German so your color translation is right :cool:

"The red one or the blue one ?"

Yes, I had this dilema too but most of the times the red works. When not...
:grin:

Hulk,

Pri. : 230V/50-60Hz ge-ge
Sec. : 2x15V/1A gn-rt/bn-bl

The two yellow ones are your primaries - coming from mains, thru' a 315mA fuse.

Connect red and brown, this is now your ground/reference. The green and the blue are your 2x15V AC.

Remember to connect all three to the PCB.

With that size transformer, you will have plenty of power for a nice meter backlight. Use a light of 36V, and connect it to the transformer green/blue. This way your light won't affect psu regulation.

Thanks Gyraf!

Talking about wires - what kind of wire do you use to connect the different components in the SSL (e.g. the input/output to XLR) any recommendations??
