illuminated front panel

this is nice idea that i made using piece of polycarbonate , wich i glued formica laminate on it, and then engraved the letters using engraving machine.
by lighting it from the panel side with super leds ,it's possible to achive very nice and soft light, it's more or less like the transparent exit signs in theaters.
i guess it's can be done with thin aluminum glued on poly as well, for better shielding.

Very good idea.
I received a email from schaeffer frontpanel design announcing there latedt version wich also supports engraving in perspex.
Combined with your idea this will lead to very nice frontpanels I suppose...
