Hi everybody !
I havn't come here for a really long time !  :D

I have a varimu tube comp design (altec 436) with a 10k/10K sowter input transformer.
As it is a varimu, the input define the ratio.. But I have almost no input !

Everything work like a charm but the song coming out of the beast is really quiet.

I'm feeding it from an Antelope discrete 4.

Do you think this is an impedance problem?

Does this carnhill 10K/600 wired backward could help me get more gain on the input ?

Thanks folks !

Have you measured it?

No. The Antelope is perfectly capable of driving a 10k xfmr.

Before trying to mod your piece, you should troubleshoot it.
Measure the signal at the secondary, then at the plates of the 6BC8 with no compression.
Does your Sowter xfmr has a center tap?
