Hey check it out these guys have a pretty cool front panel thing going on too.

Bet that wouldn't be too hard to do - imagine getting some aluminum, pretty thick, then milling out
the recessions for knob scales (would be my idea of cool) and then sandblasting it, then anodization
and making the inset scales outta...hmm...you know the stuff you have for, like, doorbell name plates?

Or maybe just some über-precision silkscreen...
 
You are right, there ought to be more front panels out there with intresting relief. But the costs...

Watch this mill make a simple aluminum jack point for the underside of a car! 10+ bit changes, at least 45 min of cutting...
