Anyone know what voltage connecting to the BL tap of a Japanese 100v 5150 power transformer would get me? Power transformer 70519027. Can I assume its a 120V tap?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Measure DCR of PRI wind taps, 120 tap should have more dcr by about 20 percent

So maybe you have a 5 ohm dcr on the 100 tap, 120 tap should read 6 ohms, you will need to compensate for lead resistance by touching leads and subtracting from measurement unless you have a dummy zero m

If it is a 240 tap nothing will pop, your tubes will barely light up, your plate voltage will be down, you will have low power and THC amp will sound like a big muff with a 3 volt battery, and this auto spell thing is driving me nuts, it put in THC instead of the The. Wtf?

AS 100v is the lowest mains supply voltage if you plug it into a 120volt transformer, you will notice almost no difference than with a 100volt transformer.
As said above, if the transformer is 230/40 volt the heaters will be very dim and the HT very low, usually half voltage.
No damage will occur plugging it into 100volts mains.

Since you know the transformer mrps part number (70519027) ask Peavey Service dept to look it up.

If I had to guess, 120V is a possibility. As CJ suggests a simple VOM (Ohms) measurement will be instructive.

Thanks guys really appreciate it! A buddy half way across the USA from me ended up with it. I may get a chance to measure it this winter, if he keeps it. I did contact Peavey, they have alway been real good in the past. I used to work in a shop though, so I think that got me a little more priority.
