what seems to be the problem with the sc3?
R channel, act 2 db more Gain Reduction then L one...

What is the type of the vactrol used in the SC3?
(I have been experimenting with vactrols, but it seems there is a lot of difference in response time.)
[EDIT] Do I see ORP12 there? So a discrete combination of an LDR and a LED instead of a vactrol? [/EDIT]

yes I do, I own an old Audio precision System One.
I think it has a castom build optpocell, I can see a black box sealed onto PCB board.

yes black box is the opto... it should have 1-2 leds in there that are orange and the photo resistor/LDR...
