JPL had an open house today. I braved the crowds and weather.... Talk about seeing some amazing stuff. Their machine shop alone was worth it...  8)

I have a friend who works there. He gave me a tour the last time I was near Pasadena (well, as much as a foreign national was allowed to see). Some amazing stuff going on there. He had a fairly large responsibility in the landing of the most recent Mars Rover. I was nervous by proxy watching that (time delayed) descent information! The six minutes of terror, or whatever they called it was about right.
