I have several Langevin AM-16s. I need to figure out if they work, so I'm planning to test them using a wall-wart PSU. If they work, they're going to my tech for a proper rack job. I'm confused about a few things in the wiring diagram.

The diagram/pinout says:

+24v DC at 100ma +24vdc to pin M. 0vdc to pin P.

Chassis ground is pin J.

Circuit common is pin K.

It also says that the negative side of the PSU must be grounded at only one point, which it says is "usually located at the supply proper."

So to hook this thing up, I'd connect +24v to pin M and the PSU ground wire to pin P, but where does the negative wire from the PSU go?

Also, what does "circuit common" (pin K) indicate in this circuit? I'm wondering if it means something different than usual.

Thanks for your help!

k and p are both connected to electronic ground, so put your 0 volts to either one,
+24 goes to m,

no need for a chassis ground until you rack the thing,

Thanks Cj.

One more question, where should the negative wire from the PSU go? The manual says the negative side must be grounded at only one point, usually located on the PSU, but I don't get what that means. Seems like it would be a bad idea to tie that with the 0 Volt wire.

the AM 16 uses a single supply, not +/- and gnd,

so all you have is 0 and +24 vdc,
