Led in G7 - Parallel or Serial ??

Hi !!

During my first test i have put a 3V/30mA white led
in my G7, in parallel with the heater with a resistor of 135 Ohm.

but the led burned after about 10 hours :evil:

the question is :grin:

do i put my led in serial or in parallel ?

if it's in serial ? do i increase my psu heater voltage to 9,3v ???

paralell.
but reduce the current to 15 ma.
30 is a bit hot for most LED's.

no problem.
try a 330 ohm at 1/4 watt or better and see how brite.
should be plenty brite.

There's a good reason you should avoid paralleling LEDs... the subtly different forward drops mean that one will usually hog more than is share of current...
Always use a resistor in series with each LED to avoid this problem...

Yes, never directly parallel junction devices, as a rule.

ok and i put the resistor at the anode pin
of the led ? right ?

Dosen't matter what end of the LED you put the resistor. For around 6V, use some 330-470Ohms resistor.
