Had these leevers Rich tape recorder electronics sitting around.....replay amps are input tran  2 x ECC83 & 1 X ECC81 & a  output transformer seems to be push pull output stage.

I dont no anything about tape recorders Iv of bias oscillators & such was wondering if... I can use these amps almost as they are as mic pres or line amps ??

I tried and answer that question for myself I wired up the replay amps and tried put audio thru them, tried putting output of a mic pre thru.....no good, very distorted.....tried a mic signal.....didnt sound good......tried bypassing the replay amps input tran by connecting a mic & mic transformer direct to amps grid......better but not good...

Im wondering is this what I should expect?....its just the wrong circuit perhaps, can I make changes ?

Would the In/output transformers be all wrong ? if so would could I use the transformers for ?

thanks ...Im going to fire up the record amps next..

Cheers
