Hi,
I have problem with lexicon 480L. It didn’t work in stereo mode only one channel is controls by mix parameter.

Situation is such:
I have Lexicon 480l ver 2.0
I use split mono configuration
Input L use machine A.
I load bank 1 program 1 hall effect.
On main L output is only dry signal (no reaction to mix parameter).
On mail R output is signal + effect and I can control dry/wet ration by mix parameter.
On other effect banks the same situation, but I found out that on some programs like bank 4 program 1 is reverse situation mail output R is always dry signal on main output L is signal + effect and l can control ratio with mix parameter.

Machine b is working the same but has reverse situation.
I load bank 1 program 1. On aux R signal with no effect, on aux L signal + effect.

Can you say it is software or hardware problem? And how can I check it?

I would make sure your machine is configured properly.  Never used the units in mono mode. I used mono split, stereo and cascade. I always liked mono split because you then would have 2 reverbs, one on machine A and one on machine B.

There are many possible problems on the 480, but the first thing to do is check the batteries on the processor board. Faulty batteries can cause strange symptoms like partial loads. Also you can remove one HSP card at a time, and check the unit in single mode. You will only be able to run one reverb, but if you put in one HSP card at a time you can discover which card is faulty.
If both HSP cards operate strangely, it would indicate a fault on the processor card.

You can send individual cards to me to be repaired, however I am in New Zealand.
Also I can sell you version 4 software, although it might not work on a version 2 processor card.
Also I can sell you a diagnostic cartridge but it only works with version 4 software.

I use it in mono split mode, according to manual L input channel is then processed by machine a , R input channel is processed by machine b. I also try different modes and in each only one channel is with effect.

in mono split mode, L input would feed  machine A and output Main out L and right, Then R input would feed machine B reverb and output aux L and and right.

When you say only one channel is with effect do you mean the outputs are mono? For example are you saying that when you use mono split you use left input, it goes through reverb machine A and then the output is on only on Main out Left and nothing on Main out Right?

I use mono split.
connect input only to L channel. use only machine A
R input and  machine b is not used.
On main L output is signal without effect and no reaction to mix parameter.
On main R output is signal with effect and dry/wet ratio I can control with mix parameter.

but on some programs output channel reverses: on L is signal+effect, on R only signal.

sounds to me like something is incorrectly setup? been a while since I used those. but I would double check everything in the setup pages. I would start off by checking the mode from mono split to stereo and see what happens.  The fact your only getting one side of a stereo out and that it switches based on the reverb selected suggests  to me it's something in the configuration.
