Hi,

I have a non-functional Lexicon 960. It seems that at least the reverb card is dead and there might be some problems with the motherboard as well.

Is there anyone who might know enough about these and have some spare cards? The service tech from lexicons distributor in Finland just called me and said that he can't do anything.

Any suggestion where I could ask for help?

that is such a shame, they are great units.

How badly do you want this unit working again? You may consider sending it to the USA to have lexicon/harman kardon look at it.

I really really really want it working again. If sending it to the moon would solve the problem I would probably do that. Do you have any contact information to someone at the service department at Lexicon USA? When I tried to contact them through the website they refered me to the finnish distributor that said that Lexicon does not support these any more.

Hi Anders!

I rebuilt recently a completely dead 224XL! and it's working. I know it is not the same beast but if you send it to somewhere the first thing they are going to do is this!

Before sending somewhere, if you are able to do some work on by yourself, do a full Electrolytic recap, change all the batteries on it, and buy some ram and replace them. Maybe here you can find some : http://www.reichelt.de/?ACTION=3;ARTICLE=2460;GROUPID=;SID=328-Z-U6wQASAAAFQVauw41230981cc0eab022e6613a7c5a2dce9e

You could ask to Steve Lenham of Benden Techs if he has some tips for it! http://www.lenham.clara.net/sound/lexicon224p1.html

Maybe if you tell us more about the faulty unit, it's better.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the reply Labak!

I will hopefully have more time to look at the unit next week so then I can tell you more about it.

If you can send me the service manual I would be most happy. I'll pm you my email.

/Anders
