Lexicon M300L

I've got one of these on my workbench at the moment...
Shows the "Mainframe link failed" error on the Larc

I tracked it down to the 68008 cpu.
R/W pin latches to +5VDC.
Confirmed it with a working 300L swap and the problem follows the cpu.

That's the diagnostics part... now the cure 
This is also where my knowledge on microprocessors ends. (right where it started)

Is it still possible to find it a replacement these days?
And is it possible to get it programmed anyway (knowing that I have a working 68008)
... with my limited/non-existand MC experience.

Btw: I have the service manual. I might put it somewhere if anyone needs it....

According to my very quick research, it doesn't look like the 68008 has any built-in ROM, so the programming should not be affected if only the cpu is defective. Getting hold of a working one might be difficult though.
