This may seem a really daft question...
I can't quite gather how I am going to get my signal from tape/disk back to my monitors via EQ/Compressor sections...
I am not a big fan of in-line consoles - much prefer split line..
This will be my recording path....
Mic Pre -> Compressor -> EQ ->Tape
Tape -> Compressor -> EQ ->Summing Buss -> 2 track
Do I actually need to place anything between the tape and compressor?
I know what do do with a mixer - I plug into a channel and set a gain structure based on the Input Level...
So.. what do I need to set the input level
I would presume that we are talking about a totally clean sounding device (we have added "colour" on the way in)
Tape returns are semi pro or pro (-10 or +4)
