Low voltage after bridge rectifier

What might cause very low voltage after a bridge rectifier?

I have a PSU transformer spitting out 220v, followed by BR, then typical CRCR. Voltage in to the BR is 220v, but  after the BR is like 6v max. I’ve changed out the BR and it tests correctly.

Bad transformer? Something else?

Is anything getting hot...? is the bridge input still 220V when you measure 6V output?

Yes. AND the same whether connected to the CRCR or disconnected.

The bridge rectifier must be burned up.

Strange! Maybe the battery of your multimeter is empty or the measuring device is defective? Did you check it with a second multimeter?

Never mind. Stupid mistake. Measuring to chassis ground instead of signal. It’s an old unit.
