I'm not sure how to measure the output (Voltage) of a THAT 1246 Line Receiver. What has me stumped is the reference point when using my multimeter. It's easy enough on the inputs (using probes +IN and -IN), but what about the output, which is pin 6? Where should I be connecting the -ve probe?

Note that a vanilla DMM usually targets AC mains frequencies (50-60Hz). So you might not be able to measure 1kHz or above. You should be able to measure 100 Hz though. Try your DMM with your FN generator and see if you get consistent results across different frequencies.
