I have an Audio Technica PRO-25 mic with a busted diaphragm and was wondering if anyone had a suggestion on what I could use to replace it. I'd like it to sound as good, preferably better than the original but would like some guidance on selecting a good one and where to go to get 'em.

the peluso capsules are around 80$, for a LD thats not to bad.

or get a mxl 2001/2003 ( i just got one on ebay for 80$) and rip the cap out to use on yours, and then have a body leftover for another project.

Hmm...those all looked like condensor capsules to me and I'm looking for a dynamic. Maybe I missed something on the site?

oh, sorry, i thought that AT was a condensor.

i dont think theres anything you can do with a dyamic thats busted.
couple of guys were on here a while back talking about md421 paperweights cause of a busted cap :green:

I got 1" from inside wall-to-wall of the metal housing and about 7/8" with the rubber shock sleeve. I'm all for making it a condensor if it's feasible, possibly a SD condensor?

sd caps are pretty hard to find. the most popular ones are the 797 SD i believe.

look for scodiddly's thread in the brewery titled "alice mic" (or near that). he used some SD caps from somewhere (they might have even been the cheap panasonic sd's) and his mic sounds pretty frickin nice. even has some sound clips of it.
