Mic preamp from neumann v475???

Is it possible to make a neumann 475 to work as a microphone pramp .. I know that there is small gain,maximum about 30dB, but can be useful in some situations .. the question is.. can be mounted potentiometer for gain In and what power supply can be used  for a combined 24V and 48V phantom power ... i'm sorry but I am totally inexperienced with electronics and maybe my question sounds a bit stupid ... Are you the guy that asked the same question at Gearslutz?
So you have a forklifter but you need a crane. Would you try to convert the forklifter into a crane???

In SOME VERY FEW situations, a forklifter could be used as a crane, Just not for as heavy loads and not as high...  ;D

a 475 works fine as a summing amp, don't convert it ...
