I recently purchased a used Rode NT1 microphone and have made some great recordings with it. I used it again today and when unplugging the XLR cable, the whole XLR connector on the mic itself came loose. I discovered that there is a tiny screw that needed tightening so I purchased some precision screwdrivers and tightened up the screw. The connector is no longer loose but I am now getting a really loud buzzing sound from the mic unless I am holding it a certain way. As soon as I release my hand from the mic.... BZZZZ!!!! I have tried loosening and re-tightening the screw but the mic is still buzzing. Could one of the pins or some of the wiring become damaged? Any ideas? Thank you. Joe

It might be that the metal body of the microphone is no longer in contact with pin 1 of the XLR insert.
You can check this with a multimeter in the 'ohms' position.

I just realised I hadn't screwed back on the base of the mic before testing. It's working perfectly now. Thank you again and for your prompt reply. Have a great day.
