Hi

Because yesterday was a kinda bad karma day, I was soldering relays for a microphone and the nut holding the tip of my iron was loose and the bit finally falls, on a relay, the housing has been burned where the tip falls. I cover it up with black tape. I guess there is nothing to worry about, but we never know.  Thanks guys haha

Did you break through the housing?

If not it's just a flesh wound and you should be fine as far as the relay is concerned. However it does not look pretty and having that in a unit can easily make a customer want to return in.

I had the time to grab my plier and retire it before it's too late, but I noticed there was one tiny spot where we could see Inside the housing, so I cover it up with black tape to prevent any dirt to enter in there.
