I have a cheap steller x2 mic and it sounds good but the high end is a little too bright. I've always wondered how the MP fits the K87 capsule into this circuit. Until I saw a manual on youtube. One capacitor uses 470pf, while the other can use higher value cap to tame high frequency . Here I used a 470pf and 4700pf capacitor to tame my x2 mic, now I think the sound is well balanced, hope it helps.

Haven't seen this way of attenuation, will try, thanks!

Does it have any side effects? Distortion maybe?

Thanks for linking me to this thread.
looks really achievable.
can you list any changes you made and where?
my eyesight isn’t great, waiting for my magnifying glass to arrive from the post so that I can see better on my board.
So where does the 4700pf go? What voltage should I order?

I’m guessing there’s more to this potential modification?
Anyone able to recommend a way around this? can It be made to sound more gently boosted at 5k and not be too bright?
I’d like more midrange ideally.
thanks all

63v is plenty, but i kinda disagree with MicParts' method...
Yeah, I’m not sure about that. I have recently swapped components in and MXL 2001, I got nice results thanks to @LevinGuitar’s suggestions.
also, was the MicParts booklet for a different mic?
