Hi,

In doing research for a new multimeter, I came accross a "scopemeter" which appears to be both oscilliscope and mulimeter. It seems too good to be true, but I'm wondering what type of scope is necessary at the bare minimum for testing audio gear (mic pre's, mainly, maybe a compressor here and there).

If this thing were accurate, is there good way to know if the following specs would be suitable or not?

"Oscilloscope graphical functions: Single channel, volts/division (75mV to 500V), Amps/Division (75mA to 15A), 500ns Glitch Capture"

Thanks,
Kelly

unless its portability that you must have... you can probably do better with a decent DMM and a CRT based scope... Im betting it would be cheaper overall too

Yes. And 75mV/div is not sensitive enough for audio work. You need at least 5mV, preferably 1mV/div. On the other hand, it dosen't need to be extremely fast - some 10MHz will do fine for most things..
