I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue with their 604's. Mine have been pretty much sitting unused for years. When I plugged one in it worked for a few minutes then started 'hissing'. I finally opened it up and found that both of the 220uF 16V caps near the XLR were puffed up and had leaked at some point (it did not look fresh). Usually when one is bad in this manner, so is the other so I opened the other one and it has one of them puffed up and leaky. If it hadn't gone noisy I never would have looked...
