Hi!
I just bought a Neve 66 series monitor module on ebay and have an idea of using it as a base for a Neve style combined monitor controller and "flavour box" in a 19" 1u rack.

The unit will replace the the monitor section of our ASP2802 console and also add the option of adding some neve flavour to the stereo mix. The monitor section of the console can then instead be used for other purposes like artist monitoring or reference speakers or uncolored reference tracks.

Anyone who might have the pinout and/or schematics for these? Are these active?

There seem to be a lot of components as well as OPAs on the board for a passive design? Is the "2-Kanal" (guessing "2-channel", since this is a german sold one) for switching to a second pair of speakers or for some other use like a second input or output?

Still awaiting shipping for the module so haven't been able to study it up close yet. The pics below is from the auction.

For the "flavour" probably two 1084 or similar for amplification, since its seems that some other people on the forum have done similar designs. If it's an active module perhaps add some suitable neve style output transformers for some extra flavour.

Any other advice you guys might have regarding this project? It's still just an early thought in my brain and am no audio guru so might be thinking about this the wrong way.

Also building a SSL style masterchannel unit with analog summing, 9k EQ, internal and external sidechain option and 4K buscomp that will be a companion to the "neve" unit in the audio chain. (Will start a separate thread about that project later).
