I found this new tube mic at gearslutzboard:

It seems to be different, not usual Neumann/ AKG copy.

Yeah it looks like a Brauner copy.

If people are going to copy other peoples body designs at least copy a classic like the U47 or U87. Don't rip off someone like Dirk who is still alive and trying to do something original.

This is why I would never go into equipment manufacturing. There are already a lot of great gear manufacturers out there that have popped up in the past few years. For every great gear manufacturer out there there are 10 trying to rip them off, and 100 who don't even give a damn about audio.

How many (insert vintage gear here) clones do we really need?

Why didn't someone do this before?

As long as you are really into the sound of the mic and preamp together as a unit, and don't feel like using any vintage Neumanns, Avalons, Neves, APIs, whatever on the mic.

Perhaps they should have a mic level out version too...

Quote from GS "The MD RS1 is a very transparent, bright mic (even brighter than the Brauner) and to me personally sounds similar to the Sony C-800 G."

:? yuuck

I think the sanken 44 uses two Ti skinned capsules.

there are line level microphones.

the u67 has an EQ built in the feedback loops

I wonder what is new in this microphone?

The U67 has a fixed EQ in the feedbackloop to equalize frequency response of the capsule. The EQ in this new mic can be adjusted.

"The frequency response of this microphone can be adjusted within a wide range by a control ring so that it can be optimized for different applications."

P.S.: I`m not "blaugruen7"
Welcome Ian!
Ozzy's back on the juice.
I need a replacement.
Well, Ian did that once before... it was so much like Spinal Tap that it wasn't even funny. Complete with stonehenge, a dwarf, costumes and a complete disaster of a tour etc. (I still have the "live evil" T-shirt that Tony gave me somewhere...)

Link

I know that Tony and Ian are still good mates, but I don't think that they'll ever do anything on stage together again...
