Hey All,

I've got a Rode NT1000 that has a noise issue. It's got what sounds like 60 hz hum pretty noisy mixed in there with the signal that it's supposed to pass. There's a lot of surface mount transistors, some f the same type of resistors and probably capacitors, and a couple of electrolytics.

I can't really come across any schematics, which makes sense. Any ideas what the issue could be? I don't have much experience with troubleshooting mics.

60Hz all over is usually power supply trouble.

As this is a mike(?) and should only see dead-clean Phantom power, you'd look for failing Phantom.

Moreso than most box electronics, a condenser mike WILL pick up hum in thin air. They shield against this. A shield connection may be broke. Finger probing may reveal a "shield" that isn't shielding.

Is it capsule working properly or it stuck when you talk to it?
Put good pics of the PCB this could help a little.
If capsule works ok i would check all the ground connections.
If grounding is ok, then i would look for faulty electrolytic caps.
Two are for filtering two for the output.
Look for Rode NT1a schematic, it was designed using NT1000 circuit.
One of the members here draw schematic for it. If i remember correctly it was in drawing board subforum.

Edit:
I realised after some time that was topic from 2009 :D
Anyway maybe some tips would be usefull :D
