Apparently EBAY is mining the big data that they collect from their internet sales operation to identify and share the hottest product search items with chinese manufacturers so they can manufacture replicas or versions of them. I suspect honest merchants will label these as replicas, but if they change hands after that first transaction all bets are off.

I am not aware of any smoking guns in the legacy audio corner but it seems old skus that are hot enough could turn into "new old products"...  :eek: :eek: :eek:

The NEWS would be that ebay is helping? Here we see a lot of SM58 manufactured un china and sold for 25% of the price (sounding as you could imagine) just to take an example, I don't know if they are going to work on something big, but massive sold articles are quite common to find as 'replicas' and mostly the seller don't said it at loud, maybe if you are lucky on the small font there is something about.

That would be NO surprise if it is not already happening
you can see where the chinese steal from each other like they're selling stuff out
of the back door of the factory
