I just received 2 of the following transformers OEP X187A

these are the specs for the xfo from oep web page:

Microphone matching transformer.
30 ohm CT - 50kohm
Turns ratio : 1 CT to 41

Can I use this on some DIY project.

Thanks

yes you can use it, I would want more specs before I bought more than 1. there is a good chance it is not full bandwidth.

These are good quality products; the bandwidth is respectable. -3dB point at about 30kHz. But the problem is the input side is for very low impedance microphones, which do not exist anymore.
These xfmrs are also used in HiFi for moving-coil phono cartridges.

This is great. I have a friend pushing me to make him Phono Preamp because he misses his Vynl records. Could you point me to a Phono preamp circuit?

Gracias

Does he have a moving-coil cartridge? Most turntables have a "standard" moving-magnet cartridge. There are hundreds of RIAA preamp schematics floating around. Do you want tube or solid-state, discrete or IC...?

What is a good and simple RIAA phono preamp for a 70-80 turntable.
I would like Tubes or Discrete. No IC's.
It seems tubes do something special for the Vynl records but a discrete design should work fine. I am currently reading posts on phono premps ... ANY  comments and / or links are welcome. Thanks
