Title says it all. 1965ish "Paris Bass Boom" amp came in for service today, and it's early SS. I'm not turning up much useful online, and nothing in my data books either. Works, but sounds like that germanium roar in the background. If it were mine, I'd put an entirely different amp in the cabinet, but it ain't. Has bitchin' roman numerals around the dials, rather than boring old english digits.
(2) Fairchild SE 4002 In case I'm blowing the part #, there is also 536 on one, and 547 on the other. I'm interpreting those as date codes. Small signal, 2 on the front end it appears. Maybe NTE199? Also suggests NTE123AP, but looks doubtful.
Fairchild SI(?) 170 Hard to tell if it's really an 'I' on this one. Also 539 on this one. Can't find a thing.
(2) Bendix B-10383A TO3 package outputs. Looks like 6533 date code. Only thing I come up with is NTE103A, which is the wrong package.
If the NTE stuff is right, the Fairchild jobs are silicon. May only need to replace the germanium power outputs to get it acceptable. No budget here for a redesign. I'm tempted to say "forget it", given the potential end satisfaction level.
