Hi

Someone here that knows how to understand Omron relays type numbers ?

I have a whole bunch of relays with numberings:
OMRON G5L-117P-PF
On the omron site there's no info regarding to this specific number.
Maybe this one is similar, I don't know... ?

Are they suitable for audioswitching, and how can I find the pinout ??

thanks

Hi Ward,
Isn't the pinout/schematic printed on top of the relay? The ones I have are all printed but sometimes very light....hard to see.

Looks like all of the G5L series are power relays, capable of carrying 10A. The contacts are made to resist arcing, and the side effect is that they have higher contact resistance (the page you linked specifies max contact resistance of 100 ohms which would occur at low signal currents). What you want is a low-signal relay, with a contact resistance maximum of more like 100 milliOhms. The Omron G5A and G6A series are more in the ballpark.

thanks

that makes perfect sense, they come from a studio light switcher.
too bad for me
