Cleaning out the garage/workshop and I found three of these....

http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/Vintage%20JBL-UREI%20Electronics/JBL-5600-2Bmanual.pdf

Worth working on or dump???

All of it. The 5901 mic inputs and the 5195 matching bridging trannys. I figure they are definitly worth saving. I just wonder if the circuit might be worth checking out seeing as how they are already built....

JBL is known for quality. That's probably Triad iron there. I would definately blow out the dust with an air hose and fire that bad bo up. Look for leaky lytics first. Maybe pull one of the filter caps before you fire it and check value/leakage.

WOW! I t looks like I have 3 of these things. I also have the 5308 expander HERE . Very different. Bipolar not FET input like the mixer itself. Little plug in tranny's, same socket as a 12**7 type. I may have to check these things out.

cleaning out my garage this afternoon;
a few old pushchairs, some decorating stuff, couple of boxes of vinyl. Definitely no vintage iron here that I'd forgotten about....

Heh heh Johnathan,

Maybe I should mention my garage was my workshop/repair area for my audio business before the divorce. I probobly removed these during an install or something and just never got rid of them. They just wound up on a shelf and I "found" them as I'm moving to my new shop.

I "found" some other stuff too that will pop up here at a later date I'm sure.

Cleaning out my garage today... NOTHING!

Took me about 1 second to clean everything...

I have about 15 years of junk in my garage. The only thing that I know is in there is a 1940's broadcast transmitter....only because I can see it rising above the rest of the junk!!! Talk about iron! The modulation tranny in that thing has to weight 150 pounds :shock:

Other than that, just lots of parts and junk...I have some old broadcast transmitter tubes that would kick some serious @$$ if built up as a bass amp...oh, 5KV on the plate at about 1.2 amps......the filament current is a bitch though....7.5v @ 21 amps! :shock:
What the heck am I going to do with these.....gee, maybe build a pirate radio station :cool:

I found two dynaco preamps and a dynaco tuner in my garage. I just don't know where this stuff comes from.

TP,

That reminds me of when I worked in radio. One of our accounts was an AM that had been on the air since Roosevelt was president. They had a beautiful old RCA 1kW AM (it looked '40s or early '50s vintage) that had been decommissioned some years earlier. They offered it to me for free... I couldn't take it because I had no place to put it. It would have made the ultimate keg refrigerator for the den--if I had a den, that is! :wink:
