OTARI VU METER Lightbulbs

hey all...

i need to replace some bulbs on the VU meters of our MX80, and OTARI wants $5 per bulb. seems a little ridiculous, even if the do have to fly them in from japan. anyone got any cheaper solutions?

re-lamp with LED's

Or find out the bulb type and get them from any parts dealer. Allied, newark, digikey, mouser will all have better deals on bulbs than that I would think. Allied was the best when I bought some automotive bulbs a few months back.

I agree with checking a parts dealer. I recently replaced bulbs at work on a studer and an SSL. Studer wanted something like 20.00 per bulb. I dunno remember exactly but was alot. Anyway ended up going to a local electronics shop and getting them fur under a buck a piece. Stocked the shop with them for much cheaper then what studer wanted.
