While searching this forum I found somewhat negative references to PCB Express board quality. Can anyone elaborate on this as I was thinking of using them.

If thats the case can anyone recommend other services like this from experience or are more 'traditional' layout editors and fabs more robust.

I am looking for small run/prototyping service.

Try Olimex - good quality and great prices.

I think PCB Express makes good quality boards. I just had an order delivered recently within three days of order to my doorstep.

What sucks is their free software through the Express PCB service. It is the same company: PCB Express, Express PCB, PCBPro and Electronic Design Services.

I use ExpressPCB all of the time. Their software is easy to use and the quality of their double sided plate thru boards is excellent. They offer a special where they will make you 3 boards measuring 3.8 inches by 2.5 inches (convenient size for mic preamp cards) delivered to your door for $59. I highly reccomend them.

Thats exactly the deal I was looking at. I am planning to implement the pre-amp design from the THAT-semi app notes and it's the perfect size and a good deal. I think I'll go for it.

Thanks all for the replies.

Densely populated? How about this one:

Board size is less than 2*2" :green:
