I just thought I would show off my latest build.
It's basically the JLM LA500 circuit - the schematic is available online.
I made a few minor changes:
The meter is replaced by 2 LEDs - one showing output and the other gain reduction
The input is handled by a THAT 1200 IC.  It simplified things and called for fewer components than the original schematic.
I also only have one low cut frequency on the side chain.  I went mostly with the parts I had on hand.

The 2 ICs are running at +/-16v.  It's got relays for bypass as well.  The output amp runs at +/-24v - currently I'm using a Purple Audio KDJ4 (I think).  The transformer is from Hairball.  I also got the LED driver from Andrew at Purple.
This thing sounds really great and goes from subtle to very aggressive.  I've got another in the works.  I'll try to do some kind calibration when I've got the other to make them work evenly together.  I need to get some knobs.

Finally finished up the pair of these comps.
I made a couple small changes - mostly swapping out a couple components that I used as substitutions to get by.
These sound great and are easy to assemble.  The second one is laid out basically the same as the first with a little cleaner wiring.  Also I didn't have a pair of red LEDs on hand when I started off (only one for the first comp) so I got a pair of clear LEDs that light red.

Got some knobs too.  Pondering some kind of labeling.
