Hi
Does anyone have a simple phantom power schematic?
Ohh! If it can match a 24V or a 2x15V trannie it would be great.

Cheers

I get 60V out and it slowly fall to 40V.
I have checked it over and over again, and can see anything wrong.

I have never touched AC voltage before, so it is proberly just mee!

I have racked the U274, and have used it today together with my MS-20.

Try this one.

I´ve came with the idea that did not worked as it should and with a cooperation with many guys in here now I have a very simple and cheap Phantom PSU, regulated, short_circuit protected, etc... Works great, but you should select the zeners if you want PERFECT 48v. I don´t care for it since Phantom specs is 44-52 volts.

It´s really simple, just make it on veroboard. You can try just two zeners in series instead of four, like a 12v + 39v zeners, but make sure you get the power right.

Maybe a low value resistor, like 100ohms and another cap shunting to ground before the collector of Q2 will make things even better, what do you think?

Hi guy`s,

Is that my my phantom section in the psu for one API card you have problem with ???

Some important thing is that you use a AC 24 volts transformer or wall plug-in adaptor with out a grounded centre tap, and that you use a NPN darlington pass transistor, and that you not take out more phantom current than 5 mA.

If a other psu section also use this 24v AC, it must also work with half wave rectifcation to get the phantom section to function.

This design have I don to get a very simple 3 voltage rail psu with perfect function for one API 312 or 325 amp card, so when it are used in parts or to other thing it can be problem.

We need a phantom Meta.
We get sooooooo many phantom questions.
Maybe some Neuman or Neve phantom schematics, what say?

Thanks! rafafredd...
Now I have a project for tomorrow!

I don?t blame your circuit Bo, its just my lack of knowledge..

Cheers

Mikkel,

No, of cource I don´t feel it so, it is always interesting to know what the problem are, because next time I do a DIY construction it is good to know if there are some components that is hard to handle with or other thing that I must think about.

There are other phantom PSU on my tech page http://w1.316.telia.com/~u31617586/ that you can try, and of course all my designs are well tested and I have try to use components that is easy to get around the world.

Please tell me more about what you shall use the psu for and what you have for transformer and components, so I can try to help you.

I've used this phantom power circuit for more than 2 years;

http://www.tangible-technology.com/power/Phantom_frying.html

and it seems to work well.

I used an NTE128 transistor instead of the one specified.

thank you Eddie

Hi Bo
We are gonna kick you "Svenska" so much in football on Tuesday. (Hopefully)

The reason why I wanted something new, was because I did this in a complete hurry. I had a 24PSU, and some beers.
:guinness: :guinness:

I wanted to it together with my Siemens U274 preamp.
It is a superb preamp for read outs, with Authors who has a small voice.

Here is what I did... I sampled this part of the circuit only!

Thansk guys!

Hi Mikke,

Some questions for you:

Where do you take the 24 volt AC from, have you a separate transformer or are you take this from the transformer in the psu that feed the 24 DC to your Seimens U274 preamp ?

If you feed the AC from a 24v DC psu transformer, and if you have a schematic for this, I can draw a pantom psu that can fit in this 24 volts psu for you.

Is it only phantom power fore one microphone ??

BTW, I´m one of these few guy`s here in Sweden that hate sports, so it is ok for me if you kick us in football on Tuesday.

Thanks! Great!

I am using a separate 24V AC, transformer.
I haven?t dismantled the circuit yet! So if there is a possibility to fix it. It would be absolutely fantastic...

I didn?t watch football either, before I joined the Authors football club.
