If this pans out, it could be a game changer.

Physicists have shown that it's possible to harvest useable electricity from the Brownian Motion of pieces of graphene. No violation of the laws of thermodynamics, this is not a perpetual motion machine.

It could result in ICs that serve as unlimited local energy sources. Energy density (W per square cm) is as good as wind power.

I fear the key point is what was found buried in the phys. rev. article:

work provided by stochastic thermodynamics tend quickly to zero

I always get vary when there's talk about free energy without anywhere quantifying it into something recognizable like joule..

can't the government fix that with a subsidy?  :eek:

This virtue signaling is so important for big oil companies that BP is partnering with a large wind farm offshore from Denmark(?) to make "green" hydrogen. Note: green hydrogen is still colorless.
