Hi, looking for a small-sized, 4 channel amp, and came across a Powersoft LQ2804 (4 chan class D, 1U) at auction.
Advertised as 2 channel, as two are not functioning, seller says doesn't know why. I haven't asked any questions yet; unit is from 2005, from the photos. I have some repair tools/knowledge and experience with class a/b amps and general audio electronics, but no class D at all (or switched-mode PSUs).
Not sure whether to bid (current price ~$280) in hope that it's a simple problem, or that comparison with the good channels will get me there. If I could get it working it would suit perfectly, but my to-do list doesn't really need more items, however educational![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Conundrum! Any info/experiences/tips with these amps greatly appreciated.
Best,
auto
