RE: confusion about QEE Stock Console Series power supply rails...
3A to 5A audio supplies should be more than adequate (depending on channel count), age of DC bypass caps can also have a negative effect on overall loading of the audio supplies.

-Some early Stock Consoles did use AC power for meter lamps, but that was eventually abandoned in favor of using the 24vDC supply that already powered channel "ON" lamps and function relays.

-While the DC relay/lamps supply is labelled 28v, the required voltage at the channel strips is actually 24. In some cases (full 36 to 40ch frames) the Relay/lamps supply was set a bit higher to compensate for minor voltage sag (and occasionally uncertain relay activation) when all channels were on.
However,....as long as a solid 24v is present at the ends of the frame with all channels ON, Mixdown mode engaged and various Cue or Solo modes active the console should perform as designed.

NOTE: Increasing the Relay/Lamp supply to 28v unneccesarily (ie: if not required to compensate for sag below 24v in a fully loaded frame) will wear out incandescent meter and channel lamps prematurely. Changing all lamps to LED type is a much better solution than trimming the 24 supply higher.

Most Stock Console power supply racks use remote sense leads to the power supply modules, as a result they can be trimmed accurately with a voltmeter at the power supply rack.
Make certain any replacement supply modules have sense lead inputs and that the sense wires in the console power harness are in good condition and well connected.
