Rack Cases sources

I notice many projects use 19 inch rack cases. Where does everyone get theirs from and which are the best and cheapest (I am in the UK).

there's a company called holt broadcast that does cases in the UK.

Been using Maplin - their cases are made by Penn Fabrications. Decent enough quality & they deliver free for orders £35

Doh!!!!!!!!! I use Maplin for all sorts of stuff. Never thought to use them for rack cases.. Good call :thumb:

Have a look at CPC (www.cpc.co.uk I think). They have a much better selection of rack cases than Maplin & are cheap.

I can't actually find any 19" rack cases on CPC's site, no matter what search string I use or which categories I look in... :?

Aren't CPC & Farnell the same anyway?

CPC are part of Farnell, but their product range is quite different in many areas. They carry a wider range of 19" rack cases & accesories & are cheaper than Maplin. Their website is not good. You need a paper catalogue to browse the products properly.

How about in the U.S.? Where can I get rack cases stateside? I need a few 3U 5 1/2" deep cases to rack up some modified Akai Tube Pres. I have found planety of deep ones, but I need a shallow case of no more than 6" deep and no less than 5 1/2". Thanks in advance.
