RCA BA6A - plugging mic directly into it

I have one and I really like the sound of plugging a 67 straight into it. I think I will sell it but I love the rolled-off-HF when I plug a 67 straight into it, no mic pre. I'd bet that the 600ohm load has a lot to do with it but, wondering if anyone has any theories on a successful way to get this sound if I were to move the compressor on to someone else. Its not something I'd want all the time but when its right its super nice.
