is Egypt pretty much east/se  of  CA ?
on regular map, it looks east - se_ish, yea!
but when u look from circular map, looks like NW ish!

anyone can read the circular map ? pretty confusing ???

latitude of Alexandria, Alexandria Governorate, Egypt. Latitude coordinates are: 31.205753,  (that is 31 degrees North of equator.

Latitude of California is 32° 30' N to 42° N  so CA is just north of Egypt, to very north of egypt. 

You can reach it from either direction but flying is roughly 15 hours east, even longer west.
