Hi all,
I recently installed a Maiku K12 capsule in the KM84 LDC circuit and being low output (as vintage U87) I'm not sure if my headroom is right or not.
I need about 35dB of gain in my Babyface Pro FS to get good level signal and the noise floor on the input with that setting is aprox. at -55dbFS.
Input is at -105dbfs with nothing connected, -90dbfs with +48V engaged and -55/-50dbfs with preamp gain.
Do I need to check components on the mic, other issues, or is it fine? The combo sounds fine so maybe it's just the way something has been put it in
Here's an example of the noise with the room silent
