hello all
i had some issue with my ECM8000 and i destroy the capsule  ::) so i need replacement that i can solder. i saw a lot of talking about the WM-61A Panasonic, that can be replacement to still use measure microphone but in the spec i see its have 50hz-15khz, its need to be 20hz-20khz for measure mic.... am i wrong or i need something else?

Hmmm... the WM-61A I know are from 20Hz - 20.000Hz:

Have you ever tried getting the capsule of an ECM8000 out?

It's glued in. The only way to separate the grille from the tube, is with heat. Lots of heat. And then the wires between capsule and board are too short to get either out without pulling them off.

It can be done. But it's not as easy as I first figured it would be...

For the price they sell these mics, I've decided it's hardly worth it. I use my leftover ECM8000 with a connector, to test electret capsules.

thanks ! yeah i take that out and i solder again the wires but the solder had damage and i destroy that and i cant solder again.... so i need a new capsule . so the WM-61A will be good replacement for keep using the mic to measure acoustic microphone?

The original capsule is a clone of the WM61a, produced in the Philippines.

The original Panasonic should be a tiny bit better. S/R and headroom. But don't expect wonders...
