I've got an old 4 channel, no name preamp from the 80s which I'm repairing with my non existent knowledge!

The front panel power switch is knackered so I'm trying to replace it with this as it has a similar look to the broken one - Pushbutton – H48M-212R/4044 | ITWSwitches™

I have a couple of questions - the datasheet says contact voltage AC NOM 250V - what does nom mean? Is this switch suitable for AC mains switching? It will be connected directly to an IEC socket. Oh, and why is the rated DC voltage so much lower? (28V)?

Also, the switch has an LED - does this run off mains 230VAC? Or do I have to run a DC supply to it? I'm not clear on this from looking at the datasheet.

Thanks all!

Its all there in the ordering information on the datasheet. It is a led with a choice of series resistors, but it will NOT work at mains voltage.
Also note it comes in momentary and maintained styles. Which do you need?
It will work as a mains switch.
