RME ADI-8 Pro issue

Hello,

I have a RME ADI-8 Pro in my bench that powers on but all lights go up and nothing happens. All lights stay on. no sound, no change pressing any button.

- all voltages are correct +15/-15/+5/+3.3v

- nothing is overheating (using a thermal camera). highest value was around 70ºC

- nothing seems shorted too

One of the converters, IC20. its an AK5392VS. Most of them are around 58-62º, this one was floating around 70º. but the problem remained even with this chip removed.

That may be so, but if it's tickling its maximum ratings, that can't be right.

In the mean time, check supply voltages, clock signals, data lines (see datasheets for pinouts).

supply voltages are all correct. the others i will fire my scope today and check.

My first suspicion for most gear that has all the interface lights turn on is that there is a microcontroller of some kind running the front panel and it has stopped working. I'm not sure about the ADI-8, I saw a line in some of the RME specs about being FPGA based, so it is possible there is just a microcontroller core in the FPGA, not a separate processor, which would make it really difficult to debug.

update:
1. The scope is not picking clear clock on both crystals. But they receive the correct voltage.
2. A few ICs do receive constant clock from main chip, 8khz, 4khz and 14khz that i could find.
3. Even removing the 3 converters IC that were getting hotter than it should, the problem remains.

About the microcontroller, everything is controlled by a central IC, a XCS40XL.
