Morning, this post may have been more suited to the logic one but wasnt sure so here goes. I fixed up one of these that had nothing more wrong than some bad solder joints and ageing PSU capacitors. All was well. I inadvertently, whilst reassembling, powered it on whilst holding down one of the panel switches (whilst my thumb was around the front panel) . The display no longer works properly it displays something different each time its turned on, sometimes all segments light up, sometimes it runs from one end to the other but whatever.....its not happy. It then sits there and no buttons work. This unit has no factory reset. Is it possible that in doing this i've blown a logic chip somewhere between the CPU/controller and display drivers ? or permanently latched up (or down) a logic chip. Is this a feasible consideration?
