That was also my luck as a kid- we could walk to a used book store filled with electronics books.  Nothing like the NAVPERS 10087-A basic electronics book and a cold 10 cent coke on a summer day. . .

I was in Hay-on-Wye in summer of 2014 and visited the book shops. There weren't many. I was told many have dried up.

I seem to recall Hay-on-Wye as being the used book capital of the world!
